| - As a consumer,it is difficult to know whom to call,so we Google, ask people we know for a referral. For my small job, I discovered just how busy the small,to medium contractors/handymen were.Spoke with a few . One was willing to squeeze my job in in about a week knowing my situation.Another explained they were a {medium to large} contractor who ONLY billed for daily work, thus not a fit for what I needed, honesty. Unable to wait,I chose Handyman007 who responded for the IDENTICAL job, priced over 200% less than Odd Job Handyman. Handyman007 explained they also have daily rates for work that required the man hours.
Learning opportunity, companies calling themselves "handyman" when they don't meet the definition. Odd Job Handyman appears to only bill at a subcontractor rate for daily, not hourly work. There is a distinction between a handyman, and contractor.Oxford definition for the former: A person able or employed to do occasional domestic repairs and minor renovations.
Homestars ratings , take with a grain of salt?
