| - I have been wanting to try Flemings for awhile, so when a group of friends suggested the restaurant for Arizona restaurant week, I decided to jump on that chance. We made a reservation for 11, and were not seated too long after our reservation time. We were greeted by the server within minutes of sitting down, but that's when things started going downhill. Although I do understand the restaurant week menu provides a less hit to our wallets and therefore the server may not be expecting as much of an earning from our table than regular tables, I did not expect it to make much of a difference. I have gone to plenty of fine dining establishments for restaurant week without an issue. However, we didn't receive our appetizers (soup or salad) until about 1 hour + after we were seated, which I find a bit ridiculous. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 7 years, and I know it's common sense to update your customers on the status of their food if you expect it to take a little longer than usual. The server had an hour or more window to do so, and yet we received no updates or apology. Instead, we decided to remain polite and feed ourselves with water and bread. Although the wait between the main entree and dessert was not nearly as long, it was still surprising to me how long everything took. I know we had a large table, but 1 hour for appetizers is quite excessive. Although our two servers were polite, one of the servers made us feel slightly uncomfortable. He tried making jokes with us, but it registered as an odd vibe. I gave Flemings 3 stars because the 12 oz filet was seasoned and cooked well, and also the manager came by to thank us for coming. However, the spinach and potatoes were not satisfying to say the least. They tasted almost as good as those microwaved frozen dinners you can buy from Costco. The cheesecake was okay, but the walnut turtle pie that some chose to order was terrible. It was covered with more walnuts than actual pie. Walnut after walnut. I'm lucky I did not choose that dessert, and I felt sorry for those who did. The cream that was on my cheesecake was even better than their entire dessert all together. Needless to say, I most likely will not return to this establishment, as it was neither worth my time or money.
