| - There is no doubt Dr. Castilla is as good as it gets, and not just as an obstetrician. She has been my Doctor since beginning 2002, she delivered my last of 8 children. She also discovered and believed the possibility of me having appendicitis when I was six months pregnant. The hospital sent me home, my husband carried me into her office, she sent me immediately back, said yes the pain could be in a totally different area then the hospital said it had to be in, and she called in a surgical consult. They did an emergency exploratory surgery and found it right at the bursting point.
When the anesthesiologist punctured my spine during the epidural, she was the only one who listened, I called his office, he denied it, and again, I went back to Dr. Castilla who was out of town, but the office sent me immediately to ER, they gave me a spinal blood patch to fix the issue after being there a few days.
And lastly, when my gall bladder went bad, my endocrinologist ignored it, said it was a 'muscular pain' and next visit, so did her nurse practitioner. I was in pain so I went over to Dr. Castilla's office, and she saw me, and LISTENED. See that is the difference, I've had 4 different OB/GYN's based on where I lived, but Dr. Castilla listens, and she makes the right diagnosis. She sent me for a ultrasound, and I had tons of stones, hernia and bad gall bladder. She got me a surgical consult right away, and shortly thereafter I was operated on.
Had it not been for Dr. Castilla truthfully, I do not know if my last child would have survived. The surgeon said if the appendix had burst when I was 7 mos. pregnant, that it would have been bad. Highly recommend.
