  • What a trash establishment! For the first time in Charlotte, NC and one of the few times in my life, I experienced BLATANT racism. Went out to celebrate a friend's birthday and made this stop as we bar hopped through the city. There was a short line, and after 15 minutes, it was announced you could only get in if you were on the list OR bought a table. I think we caught the staff of guard when we casually agreed to buy a table. This man looked confused, consults with another bouncer, and then says "There are no more tables." Ummm what????!?? It was at that time, as we watched several white patrons enter without issue that we realized they simply wanted no more coloreds in there. We left and I vowed to never visit this establishment again, which I haven't and won't. If you go to Oak Room, you're supporting a racist establishment. Period. I've heard through the grapevine that on Wednesday nights and Wednesday nights ONLY, they allow minorities in. I'm not going to be the one to find out whether it's true or not.
