ALLEGIANT STRIKES AGAIN!
I was booking an Allegiant flight and needed to check some arrangements in connection with the flight. I went back and forth online with their draconian bag policy. You can't ignore anything, like their outrageous charges for a checked bag. You have to click on "no bags.' After I had successfully waded through all their money-grabbing tricks, I input my credit card information and clicked Purchase my Ticket. Suddenly, a box appeared, informing me that my flight price had changed! Whaaaaat? I had just completed an agreement with Allegiant--an agreement that they would provide carriage on their airplane for the money I put up. The price went up $8! I went ahead and booked because I have other things to accomplish today. I'm sure that's what these slimeballs count on. Legally, I don't think you can change the price once the customer has agreed to terms.
