  • "Bed & Bark of Hudson" is a doggie daycare and also an overnight kennel. It is operated by the Veterinary Center of Hudson, and is actually located downstairs on the ground level floor of the veterinary office. We take our dog to the Vet Center of Hudson, so that is how we initially heard about it. It just opened recently. They have daytime daycare, as well as kennels for overnight. All overnight guests have their own kennel, and during the day the overnight guests can either go to the open daycare with the other dogs or can stay in their kennels all day (owner's choice). They do require a temperment test visit to make sure your dog can get along with the other dogs and not be aggressive, which is standard for any open-play type kennel. Anyway, we'd been looking for a nice, clean kennel for our dog for when we go out of town, and had been underwhelmed by the local choices. When I heard about Bed & Bark opening up, I figured I'd check it out. My first impression when I stopped by for a visit of the facility was that it was very clean. Clean floors, clean walls, and as the receptionist took me in back to see the kennels, I noticed that they had a wall of washers and dryers running - cleaning everything. LOVE IT! I have a thing about stinky doggie daycares and kennels, which most seem to be. But Bed & Bark smelled clean, looked clean, and I watched them cleaning. GOOD! Nobody wants to bring home a stinky dog. Additionally, I saw how the people out in the main daycare area were playing with, interacting with and supervising the dogs. I saw a lot of attention and care being given to the dogs. GOOD! I like my dog to have social interaction when we are not with him - don't want him to be lonely. And I was happy with what I saw. Lots of human interaction and lots of supervision of fellow dog interactions. They have an indoor play area as well as an outdoor play area (for nice weather days). We recently went on vacation, and left our dog at Bed & Bark for an extended period of time. Normally our dog doesn't eat well when we kennel him, and in the past when we would return to other other kennels to pick him up he would look skinny .... and often sick (bringing home coughs of various types, etc...). But when we came to pick him up from Bed & Bark he looked great. Not skinny at all. He looked happy, well-fed and clean. We opted for Bed & Bark to give him a bath and nail trim for the day when we picked him up (which we always do when we kennel him for any extended period), and he looked shiny and smelled good. But I was most impressed with how well-fed he looked. He must have been very happy and content there for him to relax enough to eat as well as he eats at home. That is a big deal for him. And that tells us A LOT about the level of care and attention he received there. We were very pleased with that. He also had some meds he needed while there, and they administered them properly and on time for him, so that was really good too. I always worry about that. But I think because they are affiliated with a veterinary center, they are well trained for meds giving. That gives me peace of mind. So, to sum up, Bed & Bark is clean, the staff are very nice and interact well with the dogs, my dog was very happy there, and so ...... I am very happy! I will definitely use Bed & Bark for my doggie needs from now on! 5 stars! :)
