Arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday evening planning to have an early evening with a friend. I got there first and the lady at the hostess stand said to sit anywhere. I grabbed a small table (the place was mostly empty) and waited for my friend. Even though they were not busy, my only contact with any employees was a lady who walked by my table and brusquely informed me the table was reserved starting at 7:30. After 10-15 minutes with no one else coming by I went to the bar and asked #1) Could they tell me what tables were not reserved (we didn't plan to stay that long, but I thought it would be better to have an unreserved table) and #2) Could I order a drink. The lady behind the counter looked me up and down and coldly said I was supposed to have checked in with the hostess. I said I had and she said to sit anywhere. I repeated my question about what tables might not be reserved. She said snarkily "That would be checking in with the hostess." At that point, I walked out with this person following me asking me what I was doing - that they would take care of me. I left and will not go back. I went next door with my friend (who was arriving as I was walking out) where we enjoyed great service. Lots of bar/restaurant choices, folks, so no need to settle for rudeness and poor service.
