Regarding my home in Indian Trail, NC.
Well there is one star because the house did not fall down, yet. Do NOT go to settlement with an outstanding punch list. They WILL NOT do any of it. There will be phone calls and froth and yes ma'am yes ma'am, but nada. Be prepared to waste days and days for contractors that don't show. First oven was cracked. I had to threaten to picket the design center to get them to replace it. They sent tweedle dumb and dumber who scratched up my cabinets and walls and installed another broken oven. "Hard wood" floors are made out of marshmallow. Almost a year and still waiting for them to replace chipped kitchen light. Etc, etc.
They wore me down. I've missed so many days of work for them and they just passively aggressively wear you down. Put repair money in escrow at settlement, or you will be screwed. Or refuse to settle until the house is done. The 'oh ma'am we'll fix that for you" at the walk through is hot air.
This is the third new home I purchased. Never ever ever had this consistent resistance to every single reasonable and contracted-for and prepaid defects. Bonterra sucks.
