  • Coffee at national-chain places, even those that specialize in coffee, will forever be disappointing once you try Not Just Coffee's caramel latte! Then you add in the experience of interacting with the friendly baristas, and watching them carefully craft each person's order, and it's hard to get excited about going anywhere else for this particular caffeinated beverage. The brand-new Hex Coffee ranks slightly better for me personally in regard to mocha lattes, but the quality of NJC's mocha latte is excellent as well ... it's simply a matter of how sweet you prefer your chocolate delivery system. NJC uses a full-bodied, less sweet chocolate while Hex uses a slightly sweeter, smoother product from Raleigh, NC's Videri Chocolate. Neither is overwhelmingly sweet, but both are delicious! It's great to see this kind of attention to chocolate quality in a place that doesn't even specialize in chocolate.
