I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for almost two decades. Overall the restaurant itself and the food have changed little over the years, if at all, but as the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it. Most recently I dined her two days in a row because I was attending a work conference downtown. The restaurant typically has two specials of the day, so I was able to try them both. The interior of the restaurant is small so when it's a nice day out I prefer sitting outside. Our waiter was very friendly and provided great service. He explained he was helping his grand parents run the restaurant.
The food itself is fresh and light, not greasy or heavy. This makes for a tasty, healthy meal. The vegetables are not overcooked and they offer side options of rice, brown rice or flat bread. The dal soup is also tasty. They also serve chiya tea and lassi yoghurt drinks.
Overall this restaurant is a Madison staple and I recommend it to anyone seeking good ethnic cuisine.
