| - Red Velvet Cafe is remarkably convenient for anyone who is vegetarian/vegan or has vegetarian/vegan friends, or even someone who just wants to eat a bit healthier now and again (although I suppose we could argue that a cake is a cake, regardless of the presence of eggs and milk!). I firmly believe that the Las Vegas area needs more restaurants like this place! Their vegan cakes are pretty fantastic, and it's not a "fantastic" that's restricted to vegans alone. And, as are many a fantastic thing in Las Vegas, the prices of the vegan cakes are not cheap but also not the worst that you will fine (about $5-7 for a 2-3 serving cake... depending on how much you want to savor it ;) ).
That being said, for the menu food the prices are a little steep for the quality of food. Yes, they do use higher quality and overall more natural items than most places ( = more expensive). However, the prices that I paid here were on par with similar style cafes that I've gone to in Manhattan. And trust me, the Red Velvet Cafe has some pretty good food, but even though the prices are on par with Manhattan cafes, the food itself is not.
In particular, the fake meat and dairy products have very little flavor and the sandwiches and taco salad I've had made very little attempt at dressing up the taste (even with just some simple spices). However, their veggie grill paninis was one of the most fantastic food items I've had in Vegas, so I think as long as you steer clear of the fake animal products at this place you'll enjoy yourself. :)
