I feel like I'm in an alternate world, where rich moms with SUV's and honey blond highlights live. I've entered the world of my Calgary future. And quite honestly I'm glad I got out!
I chose this salon based primarily for it's proximity to my sister's house. I came during the lull between play dates and nap time. So getting a mani pedi was easy peasy.
I immediately fell in love with my Gucci wearing Vietnamese laquerer. She regaled me with tales from her recent shopping venture in Thailand and made me rethink my career.
She took her time descaling me, but as the salon began to fill I felt the pain of the rush. It became a rough and tumble poke, prod, and paint. I'm lucky any of it ended up on my nails. However, I did learn a cool trick of using a paint brush dipped in remover that I will try at home.
End story I'm polished and pretty in pink and I gave the extra star because let's face it, I frigging love the poor mans massage chair and she let me sit for 45 minutes uninterrupted.
Bottom line...for the ship shod paint job $45 seemed a bit much but I might come back if I'm in this neck of the woods.
