| - Decent boba tea, not the best I've had but not the worst either. Quality fluctuates slightly depending on the staff for the day. The first time I ordered a matcha boba tea here was pretty good, but on my two subsequent visits there was either too much ice or tea powder floating at the top of my drink, which is a major turn-off for me when it comes to milk teas.
They offer a good selection of add-ons, like flavored jellies and puddings that can enhance your drink. I can't speak to the taste of those since I'm a purist - jasmine or matcha with boba, plain and simple. There is also a large variety of smoothies on the menu, from sweeter options to more healthy ones like kale or avocado. Service is friendly and reasonably quick.
There is free parking in the Norterra plaza directly in front of this place on the street, or a much bigger parking lot behind the row of stores that's only a two-minute walk away. I've never had issues finding parking.
The interior is quite spacious, with high ceilings and tall windows that give off an almost loft-like quality. Seating options include high tables and leather couches. Board games are also available. This place seems to cater to a younger clientele and I imagine it would be good for bigger groups who want a space to chill and play games, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more productive atmosphere.
Best of all, Urban Boba is located in the Norterra shopping plaza, finally bringing to an end the great boba drought that has plagued the North Valley area. I hope this business continues to serve this area and that its success will bring more boba tea houses to north Phoenix.
