| - We dined here with some trepidation due to what previous reviewers had posted. But we were visiting someone who really wanted the experience, so we reserved a table and prepared ourselves to enjoy the view but to be disappointed in the meal.
We were wrong. Le Mont's view is,to be sure, the best you will find of downtown Pittsburgh and its waterfront at night, but the food also stands on its own merits. Our group dined on steak and lamb, and all were pleased with their fare. Entrees were all cooked as ordered and the vegetable accompanyments were all fresh, cooked to showcase the taste of the vegetable (Carrots and asparagus), and presented in a well-plated manner.
Salads all came out well, with fresh greens enhanced (not smothered) by the dressings. Dessert and coffee satisfied as well.
We give five stars for the view, four stars for the excellent service from Maitre d' and wait staff, and the food gets a solid three stars which probably should have been four stars if we could have tasted some of the dishes we did not order that wes aw coming our from the kitchen.
Live caberet music enhanced our evening. Valet parking was easyand worth the charge.
Having come in with a skeptical mind, we all left very satisfied. We will dine here again.
