The best sounding concert I've been to.
I saw Gordon Lightfoot here Nov 17, 2012. It was his 74th birthday, which made the concert even more special.
My friends and I sat up in the right balcony, which meant we were packed into the row of seats. Lucky for me the couple beside us were nice folks (but who isn't at a Lightfoot show?). The cramped seats didn't matter as soon as Gordon took the stage. The acoustics were just incredible.. such an intimate sound. The concert was just pure magic, and the atmosphere and acoustics of the venue allowed for some audience interaction between songs (we sang him happy birthday after the second song). The washroom was clean, even if there was about a 5 min line up for it.
Massey Hall was the venue for one of my favourite concerts, and I can understand why it's so highly touted.
PS. This venue is close to a lot of restaurants and pubs. It's nice to grab a beer and a bite before or after the show.
