Baklava is known as the confectionary that could spark a war between Arabs, Persian Iranians, Greeks and Turks. They all claim it and they all think they bake the best ones!
Now I have to admit I am not a big baklava devourer it is simply too sweet, fatty and rich for my tastes to eat often, but I tried Meli's and I have to say it was too sweet. I know that is what traditionally baklava is and the oil and sugar goes with it, but I suppose Meli's insistence that they use a better sweetener had set higher expectations.
The baklava and accompanied sweets were given to me in a see-through container with a gold ribbon on top.
The premise is clean and neat so no complaints there.
