| - Called about the $149.00 dental package. Set up appointment for 3 cats. Took them in at 8:30 am. Got a call at 11:30 am. I was told it would be $2000.00 and if there were any extractions, each would be $100.00 to $150.00 depending on the tooth. What they wanted to charge me for was, Dental Radiograph, no other vet has done this in all the years I've been taking cats for dental, Extra blood work on all three, Urinalysis on all three, Radiograph Views, 3 for each cat, Radiograph Restraint, all three, Radiograph Handling for all 3, Radiograph Consult w/Specialist for all 3, Thyroid test for all 3, Clavamox, to shove down cats throats twice a day that just had dental work instead of a Convenia shot, and other miscellaneous charges.
I've had lots of cats and lots of visits to Vet's and I've never been charged for "Radiograph Restraint", "Radiograph Handling" or wanting a "Consult w/Specialist" on all exrays. Nor have I had a vet want to do "Additional Bloodwork" on cats that are 3 and 7 years old, or "Thyroid" and "Urinalysis" tests with no apparent reason.
Just a bait and switch. The BS dental deal is just to get you in the door, then look out, you're going to pay big time. Be careful not to give them permission up front for additional work. I thought I could trust Dr. Snead but I was so wrong. Save yourself the aggravation and go to someone that won't treat you like a bank account.
By the way, we went and picked up the cats and will find an honest Vet to take care of them. It cost $102.90 for "exams" just to get them out of there.
