My friends and I stayed here overnight on a recent trip to Pittsburgh. We had absolutely no issues from start to finish.
Check-in was effortless. Everything was clean and well stocked. There were no issues with billing. The price was competitive to the area. It was easy to reach, as it's directly off a highway exit. Each queen bed had 4 pillows: 2 "firm" and 2 "soft" which provided a nice ability to mix-and-match based on comfort. The beds were very comfortable overall, and everything looked to be organized and in order.
The room temperature was pretty much perfect from the get-go and did not need to be adjusted. There were plenty of in-room amenities and we did not need to call down to request anything that was missing. The amount of wall outlets were sufficient and scattered enough to charge our various electronics.
The wireless was fast enough and easy to sign into. One of my friends tried the pool and said it was very nice. The computers in the lobby were a nice touch for us to access some quick maps / tourist spots of the area, and you could use the printer for free.
The complimentary breakfast buffet was plentiful with TONS of options, and all of them were delicious. We had quite the feast that morning. However, the "automated pancake machine" is a novelty at best. It takes too long to produce the pancakes to be a worthwhile tool for busy breakfast hours. Guests were lining up and everything was just slowed to a crawl there. I liked the option of International Delight hazelnut coffee creamer, haha, as that is actually my go-to choice to add to my coffee at home.
I would have preferred a later checkout (like Noon rather than 11) but other than that small nitpick, we faced no issues with our stay and would gladly choose Holiday Inn Express again in the future.
