I'm sad to say I'm leaving PC Mastercard.
In terms of a rewards plan, I think it's a good one. I spend a lot on my credit cards so I received a decent amount of free groceries. It was a very happy relationship ... until they decided to cancel my card for being such a great customer.
Yes, that's correct. I received a new credit card in the mail one day. It had a different number so it wasn't a renewal. My renewal wasn't due for another year. I called to ask why they did that and was told that since I was such a great customer, they decided to upgrade me.
I saw red for the simple fact that no one but me should make financial decisions on my behalf.
So I told them I didn't want their new card and they told me that it was too late and that my old one would be cancelled because they have issued me a new one. Also, if I don't activate my new one within 30 days, it will also be cancelled!
Ok, so, just to be clear, I'm such a great customer that you cancelled my old card and you will cancel my new card if I don't activate it. Is there something I'm missing?
So both cards got cut up immediately, the second I put the phone down and had a free hand to wield scissors with!
OFFER me a new credit card: fine. TELL me I will have a new credit card and you can stick it where the sun don't shine.
I shop at Sobeys now, BTW.
