I'm no stranger to this restaurant. The best tip I can give you is to come on Monday's when they get their fresh shipment of fish in.
This place gets busy so I usually come right when they open. Otherwise, expect to wait - but it's very well worth it.
Izakaya go has a large menu, so if you're indecisive, ask your server for some suggestions. Also, the chef usually gives you complimentary dishes. Yesterday we got conch, and mantis crab - very different but very tasty.
Here's what I ordered:
Corn butter: delicious but I wish they melted some cheese on top
Dried Mullet Roe w/ Miso cream cheese: salty but goes well with beer
Oyster shooter: great but if they added a quail egg, it would've been perfect
Baracuda sashimi - amazing and when you're done, they can deep fry the head for you.
Porkbelly skewers, chicken skewers and the beef tongue was my favorite. All delicious and perfectly grilled.
Potherb mustard yuzu salad with shrimp and avocado - dressed nicely and the shrimp is raw
Ramen Burger with Fries - MY FAVORITE ITEM. Instead of using a regular beef patty, it's chashu pork.
Service is excellent however when it gets busy, just please be patient. They're doing their best and I can definitely see that.
