  • Surprisingly bad... I thought after all the great reviews and pretty pictures that the food had to be good. I was horribly wrong. Ordered the shrimp and grits and they were so terribly bland. I couldn't add enough salt. It was so bad in fact that I had them bring me something else which the waitress recommended as her favorite, the huevos ranchero I think. It was supposed to have plantains and they put bananas... yes, bananas. Anyone who has eaten a plantain knows bananas are not the same. So I had sweet mushy bananas in the mix of huevos ranchero. Most disgusting excuse for huevos ranchero I've ever tasted. They also put peas in it which confused me... I'm assuming they wanted to add color to the dish but didn't regard taste at all. To the chef: Look, if you're going to attempt to make cultural dishes at least learn flavors. Cute place, disgusting food, and the water tasted like hose water.
