| - Beware when receiving a phone call from Henderson Chevrolet when they state that you are eligible for an upgrade on a new vehicle......
We received a phone call on Friday afternoon stating that we were eligible for an upgrade on our recently purchased vehicle which was through Henderson Chevrolet 2 years ago. When we called back to talk to the individual that called as we were interested and was told to come down. We told the person we would be down the next working day in the morning. After hanging up the phone, we discussed it and decided to go down right then. We called and spoke to the receptionist who told us that the individual was still there and we asked her to let him know we were coming. 20 minutes later we showed up, was greeted by a Salesperson and explained to him why we were there. He walked us into the showroom, to the reception desk only to find out that the individual we were supposed to meet was gone for the day.
Now came the "bait and switch" ! The Salesperson then proceeded to attempt to help us which was a joke. We told him our stipulations (i.e. same payment, same type of car and a particular color). He said he would have to look the inventory and do an appraisal on our vehicle. When sitting at the table, I noticed that he went to the Henderson Chevrolet website and then Findlay Chevrolet looking at the cars, which we already did from home and found nothing! Then another person came by and went into a completely different program and found the car we were looking for. He stated that he had original information from our purchase 2 years ago and we would not need an appraisal on our vehicle as it was in excellent shape and had low miles (under 15,000 for a 2 year old vehicle). At that point we said we only wanted to deal with him, he proceeded to state that he was the Fleet Manager but would help us (come to find out per the Henderson Chevrolet website he is another sales person). Upon reviewing the spec sheet (which we were provided a copy of one), he insisted that we drive the newer model and guaranteed that he would contact us first thing Tuesday morning as he would be out of the office Monday with an answer as to whether or not we could do the deal.
Tuesday morning, no call. Tuesday afternoon we received a call from the reception asking how are experience was with the 1st individual we spoke to (over the phone and did not meet). We expressed to her that no contact had been made with that individual and we were waiting a call back from the "Fleet Manager". Her response was.."I check into it have someone call you back." Guess what, no call! Now it is Wednesday after 5:00 and still no phone call. Now remember, they called us, we did not call them. We are perfectly happy with our vehicle. When I called back after 5:00 I was put through the voice mail of the "Fleet Manager".
Now it is Thursday and still no return phone call. So I called, not to purchase the vehicle, but to find out why no calls were made to us and to inquire why such poor customer service. When I called I asked for a manager and was given a manager in the Finance Department, Tino. I explained everything to Tino, the whole experience who stated he would look into this and call me back. Well, he did and then explained to me that we could get into a new vehicle of our choice but at a higher payment because we did not have enough equity in our car (which the balance is $10,000 less than what we purchased it for). Anyways, Tino proceeded to explain it to me and stated that the "Fleet Manager" called us back and left a message which he did not.
Now, after thinking about it more, I wanted to talk to a Sales Manager or General Manager which is impossible to let them know that they will not be getting any repeat business from us or recommendations/good reviews from us due to the misleading phone call and very poor customer service. But since I did not hear back from the "Managers", I decided to post this review to alert future consumers of this scam and treatment of potential customers. I hope that this review helps.
