The hubby and I were on our way to get a burger and he spotted this place, so we decided to try it out (after reading the great reviews on yelp). We are glad we did. We were just talking seconds before about how we missed the seafood in Boston. Hubby is from there and is VERY particular about the seafood he eats.
Taylor's is tucked away in a little strip mall. You walk in and it has a cute decor and feels homey. Except for it was freezing cold to me, husband says I get cold easily but to let yelpers know to bring a sweater just in case.
Service is friendly. Fresh baked bread is light and airy and perfect comfort food. It comes with a nice herb butter that compliments it nicely, even though it definitely doesn't need it. My husband ordered the seafood Alfredo ($17.95), when it came out it was very underwhelming. Sauce was watery and the portion was very small...think soup bowl. He did end up asking for a different meal. It came out quickly which was great. He went with the fried scallops and whole belly clam meal ($19.95). He says important thing to mention is the batter being different for clams-the way it's supposed to be. I ordered the combo platter which came with tasty cod (2 nice size pieces), shrimp was just ok (2 pcs), and perfect scallops (3 good size). Meals come with 2 sides we both chose steak fries, he had veggies, I had the slaw (which was pretty good). Clam chowder is just ok but was served with oyster crackers!
Bathroom was cute and clean and made me feel like I was actually at the beach. Smells like the crisp air you take in when wave watching!
