| - I have plenty of "favorite" restaurants, but if I absolutely HAD to choose just one, it would be Giada in Vegas. In honor of Giada's second restaurant, Pronto, opening at Caesar's Palace this weekend, here is my review!
Giada is Italian chef Giada de Laurentiis' first Vegas restaurant, located in the Cromwell hotel on the Strip.
I've eaten here several times, and each time is more amazing than the last.
Giada is great for high-end snacks or happy hour, with its selection of gourmet cheeses and fruit pairings. My favorite one is the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese with wild sage honey, served on toasted Parmesan made into a cracker-like object. Cheese lovers will delight in the Buffalo mozzarella, truffle burrata, gorgonzola dulce, pecorino tartufo and naked goat cheese options, as well.
I'm also a fan of the pizette, even though they are pretty small. The Margherita pizza comes with herb-roasted Campari tomatoes, basil and mozzarella cheese.
If you're just snacking, other options include the vegetable options (marinated olives, caponata, mushrooms), meat appetizers (orzo meatballs, bacon wrapped dates), seafood, salumi and mustard trays, crostini and soups.
Giada is also a delicious option for dinner, with large serving sizes and delicious flavors at fairly reasonable prices. I'm absolutely obsessed with the arugula salad, which features arugula leaves, candied lemon, Parmigiano-Reggiano and pancetta (I obviously order mine without).
Pasta lovers will rejoice over the options of spaghetti, bucatini with Calabrian chili pomodoro, rigatoni, pappardelle or ravioli. There are also meat and fish options, as well as risotto.
On this occasion, I ordered the smashed and fried lemon potatoes and roasted broccolini (served with Parmesan, roasted garlic and lemon zest). Paired with my salad, it was a delicious meal.
I often want to make trips to Vegas simply so I can eat at Giada. Here's to hoping that Pronto by Giada will be just as delicious!
