I always like to support small businesses. So I have been coming to Cookery for over ten years. When my girlfriend suggested signing up for a knife skills class I thought that would be fun since we just finished the George Brown Culinary program. The day of the class I came down with food poisoning. When I called Allison (the owner) she was not sympathetic and told me I would loose my full amount of $80. I understand that they can't take cancellations without verifiable substantive reasons. However I feel it was an unreasonable expectation to find a replacement at the last moment. I was very ill and unable to get out of bed. There policy is ridiculous. I like small business but I won't be dealing with someone like the owner, who was rude, unsympathetic and heartless.
