| - First, let me say that the only reason this place is getting any stars from me is 1. The price is great. 2. The doctors are friendly and efficient. The rest of the place is atrocious.
I called on a Thursday, and was able to make an appointment for Saturday at 12:20pm. The appointment was for an eye exam/contacts. I arrived at 12:10, checked in and was instructed to sit in the waiting room. At 12:40 (20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time) I was taken back by a tech for some pre exam stuff, which took about 5 minutes. Afterwards I sat in a separate waiting room for another 10 minutes before I actually saw the doctor. I saw Dr. Spurlock, he was friendly and quick, which I definitely appreciated. After seeing the doctor I was instructed to wait in the lobby for one of the techs to take me back to get my trial pair of contacts. Here is where I really started to get annoyed. At this point it is 1:05pm. I've already been here for almost an hour, and I'm getting antsy because I start work at 2:00. I'm the only person in the waiting room, watching the staff slowly dwindle and other customers come and go. At 1:20 I walk up to the front desk and ask the elderly woman sitting there if this is going to take much longer because I really do need to be on my way. She responds with "you'll be taken next"... Fine. I sit back down. I watch two techs pick up my file, look at it, and then put it back down. I see another female employee walk around the front desk and ask if she can go home, the elderly woman tells her yes, but asks if she wouldn't mind taking care of me before she leaves. Her response was to roll her eyes and say "Well, only if she's getting contacts because I don't have time for glasses." She then storms over to me and asks if I am just getting contacts. I say yes, and take note that her name tag says Christine. Its now 1:45 and I am agitated as hell that I am going to be late for work. 5 minutes later, Christine comes back, tosses (literally, tosses) a pair of contacts at me and a receipt and says we'll need to see you back in a week, and starts to walk away. Um... What? What the hell just happened? I don't even know what brand of contacts she given me. I have been to America's best before and I know, for a fact, that they usually take you into a room, give you a mirror to use to put in your contacts, explain the differences between brands of contacts etc.... None of that was done. She was straight up rude and annoyed with the fact that she had to "deal" with me before she could go home. Terrible wait times. Terrible customer service. Make sure if you schedule an appointment here you have at least 1.5-2 hours of free time and, god help you if you have any questions or concerns. I'm sorry Americas best, but after I get my contacts, I will NOT be renewing my eye care club.
