  • Could have sworn I wrote a review for this place 3 years ago... Odd. At any rate, my review back then was different than my opinion today. My opinion now is higher than it was before. The first time my husband and I stayed at this venue, we were bothered throughout the night by noisy, drunk guests in the hallways, crying and wailing about. The last two times we've stayed, it's been better. We haven't noticed any midnight drunken escapades right outside our door, so that's stupendous. We stayed on the club floor one time, simply to sample the snacks in the Club Room. Not worth the price, let me tell you! Just get a normal room, they're nearly as nice. Almost identical, even. The Wandering Horse Buffet is a favorite because we are buffet-obsessed. It's a clinical condition. Any chance to gorge on 30+ food items in a single meal is a definite HECK YEAH! for both of us. This buffet, while not the Wynn by any means, is fun. A huge array of desserts, seafood, Asian foods, beef wellington and prime rib, pizza, etc etc and so on and so forth. It's a bit pricey, but we always enjoy ourselves. The waitstaff is always very polite and courteous, as well. We recently saw Jay Leno perform in the Ballroom at the casino. We thought it would be more "Vegas-esque," but we were wrong. So wrong. It's more of a conference room/wedding reception hall that they filled with individual chairs and had a stage in the middle. So, not an amphitheater or anything of the sort. In fact, for Jay Leno it seemed a bit underwhelming if you consider where he's come from and his vast career. Also, before Jay came out, his 'warm up' act was a trio of women singing and dancing to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Mr. Sandman. There was no warm up comic, so the audience was ice cold when he finally got to start his routine, after about 10 songs that were hits in the 40s/50s. My husband and I couldn't tell if the opening act was from the casino, or if they accompany Jay on his tours. Either way, while enjoyable enough, it was peculiar to us young whippersnappers. The casino itself is hopping on Saturday nights, with live music and dancing in the lounge area, and a full casino. There is a small restaurant off to the side with surprisingly tasty fare in case you get hungry. So, overall, I do recommend a stay at this casino/hotel. I would not recommend seeing your favorite comic or musical act in the Ballroom. It took away some of the magic, if you know what I mean. Now let that be a lesson to you! P.S. Jay Leno was really funny. If you get the chance to see him perform, I would take it. He was funny without being offensive. I like that.
