| - My husband and I decided to investigate a casino that's been around forever located on the other side of town. Jerry's Nugget on Las Vegas Blvd. We were very surprised it was as nice as it was on the inside. But the fun part was they have all the slots I used to play (including coin slots!!!). I used to love playing Mr. Lucky and Texas Tea...penny machines you can play all day! I did loose $20 but wait till you hear what happened next. We signed up for their players card. My husband quickly racked up 1,000 points on both of our cards (using only $20!). And because he did, we each got $100 free play, 2 tee shirts, 2 gift bags (not much to report on the bags) and a $40 food credit for each of us!!
Using one of our food credits, we enjoyed lunch/dinner in their Cafe and the food was terrific. My husband is from the east coast so he knows good clam chowder. He loved this clam chowder. I tasted it, and not being a big clam chowder fan, I have to say it was delish.
I ordered one of the best (and biggest) shrimp cocktails I've ever had! And thinking it was going to be small I also ordered a taco salad and could not believe what they brought me..on top of my salad were two tiny taco bowls, one with guac and one with sour cream! The presentation was just too cute. The salad was terrific, my husband loved his fish and chips and neither of us could finish our meals.
They make everything in-house. No frozen fish for them...no jarred salsa, no jarred cocktail sauce or tartar sauce. The make all of their own pastries (and you should see the pastries...OMG!!!), breads, soups, sauces, etc., etc. Homemade everything!
We will most surely be making a trip back there soon!
PS I could not believe how nice EVERYONE was and how clean the place was!! Thank you RONNIE (waitress in the Cafe) for the great service!!!!!
