Ugh! That about sums it up. We should have left at check in but didn't.
Room #1 - There was black stuff growing on the wallpaper and the ceiling. The vent fan was covered in dust. The counter and tub were stained.
Room #2 - This room was cleaner. The tub faucet was lose and required two hands to turn the water on and off. The handle was not attached and if touched simply fell off.
Pool - It was a heated salt water pool, but after swimming for 30 minutes my daughter and I were both having problems with our eyes. My vision was hazy and it felt like I had something in my eyes. Her face and eyes were bright red and she said her eyes felt the same way as mine.
Breakfast - This was a poor excuse for a 'continental breakfast.'. The 'waffles' are just the frozen kind and you put them in a toaster to heat them up. The coffee was horrible.
Beds - The beds were very uncomfortable, my daughter actually slept on the floor and said that was better than the bed.
Front Desk - The first gal did move us from one room to another. The second gal, when I complained about the pool said she'd report it to the manager but nothing was ever done that I know about. I was never contacted by a manager or given an apology.
You have many choices in the Madison area to stay when you visit. The Baymont told me when I made my reservation that they didn't compare to the Howard Johnson, Comfort, Days, Super 8, etc. I just didn't realize they didn't compare because they were worse than the others. We switched to the Quality Inn in Fitchburg and were very happy there!
