We came here for lunch during a convention, and were pleasantly surprised to find decent Shanghainese food in LV. Like Anthony W. said, the XLB was a pleasant surprise, especially for $2.95. It was better than average, even by SGV standards.
Also tried a cold chicken dish with a ginger-soy dipping sauce, and a preserved vegetable/pork dish, both were very good.
While the service was a little hectic, the owner was friendly and made small talk with us each time he came by.
Interior was fairly clean by Chinese restaurant standards. I wouldn't call it upscale but it's a lot nicer than the Sam Woo downstairs.
Definitely worth a visit if you're sick of LV buffet food.
