  • I hate that despite the rave reviews on the seafood at Oyster Bar, the biggest talking point seems to be the hours-long wait. I've shown up many times, ready to eat, only to be frustrated by the long wait and leaving myself. Well, here's a local tip that I recently discovered. If you work night shifts like myself, go to the bar after work at 6 am, and you will be guaranteed a spot at the counter. I know it sounds extreme, but the pan roast is well worth it, even for breakfast. If you haven't been here yet, the combo pan roast is the one to try if you love seafood. It has shrimp, crab, and lobster. If you're more of a surf and turf type of person, the house pan roast is more for you. For some reason, the scoop of rice is the perfect addition to this seafood stew. If you don't like it too spicy, don't get anything above 5. The highest level of 10 was actually tolerable in a good way, but you definitely won't be scarfing it down. Pass on the bread roll as the level of staleness is something that even the pan roast can't cover. Other reasons to come during off hours include a half dozen oysters for $10 and $3 beer until 9 am. If you want to enjoy these benefits and no wait, you'll have to arrive before 8 am. By the time we finished our meal, there was already a line forming behind the velvet ropes.
