I was visiting Pittsburgh on a work related trip and the group I was with took us to Roland's for dinner. I was apprehensive bc of it's 2.5 star Yelp rating, but didn't get a chance to read the reviews beforehand (I've since read a few of the bad ones). That said, I was very pleasantly surprised with my meal because I wasn't expecting much. I ordered the Cajun shrimp appetizer and this is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. The shrimp were very spicy but not flavorful. I like spicy food but not when it's just hot for no reason without flavor. The mango salsa it came with made it bearable. Now let's get down the business, my main meal was the Roland's Seafood stew which was DELICIOUS! The stew is a light cream based broth with lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and potatoes. If licking the bowl in public were appropriate, I would've. More fun facts, the food came out relatively fast and our waiter was super friendly and quick - she was literally hustling back and forth. I'll bookmark this spot for the next time I visit.
