She made work for herself by pretending to not be able to do up the corset back up - she said she needed to move an entire panel. She also said that the bustle in the dress wasn't sitting properly and that some of the crinoline was sticking out. She said that the dress needed a new cord and a bit of hem adjustment on the sides of the dress. She quoted me $375.00 for this. I was appalled as I knew this wasn't accurate. I wanted to take the dress home and she charged me a $45.00 consult fee. When I complained about it she kept calling me "sweetie" saying that she owns a business and that she spent time on me. When I got home I fixed the cord to do up the corset and it did up perfectly - no panels needed to be moved. When I looked at the crinoline she had missed two entire bustle points so of course it looked off. I spent two entire days driving to Makenzie town and back - once to drop off and once to pick up. She was a complete waste of time for a bride who needs to get wedding planning done and didn't mention that there would be a consult fee. Plus everything that she 'consulted' on wasn't accurate. I'd like my money back but dealing with her is not easy. People who run businesses out of their house and expect clients to drive all that way are suppose to be a little more affordable as they don't have the overhead of rent to pay. After calling a couple places - I know she was over charging me for what she was doing. - not that any of it needed to be done. I was hustled - not bustled by Lupe and I hope she receives this so she can adjust the way she speaks to clients in the future, tells them about her expensive consult fee, and doesn't try to charge them for things they really, truly don't need. And missing bustle points??!? Come on Lupe - what are you 'consulting' on?
