I am a commercial pilot and a flight instructor. Using contact lenses for flight is a lot easier and gives you significant flexibility compared to carrying glasses everywhere. I am also an Army veteran and I use TriWest Veteran's Choice option. I had been hearing that it was generally hard for veterans to get the contact lens option. I was pretty upset with my last eye care provider who refused to give me contact lens prescription last year so I was looking for a place that would prescribe contact lenses. I found Family Eyecare of Glendale via word of mouth. Setting up the appointment through TriWest was straightforward, the appointment availability was only two weeks out.
I was very pleased and satisfied with the entire experience being there. Everything went like clockwork, I was already in the system (as they have called and confirmed a day earlier) and as soon as new patient forms were filled out, I was invited to be seen without delay. Jennifer took all the initial measurements and visual acuity etc., she was professional, friendly and helpful. Same goes for Dr. Lewis who is simply great, thankfully my eye health was great as well so I was in and out of there pretty efficiently. I was presented with a nice folder that included my glasses and contacts prescriptions separately and free contact lens sample with my new prescription. Long story short, I am happy and looking forward to next year.
I recommend Family Eyecare of Glendale to friends, family and fellow veterans.
