| - Taking hot steamy showers in front of a window that looks out to the room so people can watch me clean awkward parts of my body? YAAAS!
No really, that's a thing at the Cosmopolitan. Just gives the room that extra little bit of creepiness if you were for some reason craving it!
In all seriousness, though, it is a kinda cool feature of the room if you and your S.O. are into that kind of thing!
But, in case you were interested in staying at the hotel for any reason besides the shower, there are plenty of them! The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas as, as many know, the newest hotel on the strip, and you can really tell when you're in there. From the moment you enter the lobby, you're greeted by giant LCD screen pillars, which have all sorts of different artsy displays on them at any given time. When I went, it happened to be right on the cusp of Christmas, so I got to see a lovely, snowy little village. Of course, just minutes later, they displayed some very pretty autumn leaves falling down.
The Cosmopolitan is also an extremely clean and sleek looking hotel, from top to bottom. Dimly lit in most areas, you almost feel like you're walking through a night club the whole way through. In the best way, of course!
The selection of restaurants at Cosmo is also extremely good. Having stayed there ~3 days, we only got to hit a fraction of the places that they had to eat. Not to mention that all of the places in there felt very upscale (it is Vegas, after all). I also have to say that there was not one thing I ate in their restaurants that I didn't absolutely love.
Similarly, the bars that Cosmo has to offer are also extremely nice. Although I didn't get to have a drink there, Chandelier Bar was absolutely gorgeous. I mean, it's really hard to describe with words, but it honestly feels like a crystally wonderland when you're walking through there. I only wish there had been a little bit more seating so that we could've had a drink there on an admittedly busy Saturday night. Still a massive thumbs up, though, for ambiance alone. The bar that I did get to actually have a couple of drinks at was Vesper; the more relaxed and casual bar that's located about 100 feet from the entrance to the hotel. We did go there as a plan B when Chandelier was full, but I have to say, I'm actually glad that we went there instead. The atmosphere is much more "chill" than Chandelier's seemed, since all of the little club rats were pre-gaming there for their big nights. There's another bar in Cosmo that I know of as well, but it's name escapes me. It looked really cool, too, though!
As for the Cosmopolitan's rooms, they were very nice. Cushy beds with nice bathrooms and a big screen tv. Pretty cool stuff! The room even had a nice view of the Nevada mountains. Granted, the view could've been a bit better if we'd been given a room with a balcony, but I suppose that's what you get for checking in at 1am. The one thing I could've stood to have a little different in the room were the pillows. Those things got so flat when you put your head on them, that they may as well have not even been there.
The one other gripe I had with Cosmo is that they took about $400 from my bank account for what I assume was a safety deposit on the room or something like that. Now, something like that is understandable, especially somewhere like Vegas. The only thing was that I'm not sure whether or not they told me they were going to do it or not, or if I just didn't hear in the loud lobby. Regardless, when I panicked over $400 randomly going missing from my account and called to inquire about any charges or anything, they gave me nothing, which only added to my panic. Of course, that could just all be on me. Who's to say!
All things considered, I had a wonderful time staying at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and I sure wouldn't mind staying there again. I'd encourage anyone looking to travel to Vegas to give it a try as well!
