I've said "pssst Madame Tussauds ... whatever!" all over the world as I passed it up for a variety of cooler things. It was WAY WAY down my list of things to do but it made it on the "must do" list for my fiance so I reluctantly agreed to go.
Well I have to say I enjoyed myself much more than I thought I would. In the first hall I'd be walking by some figure and then notice a person to my left and turn to look at them and notice it's JLo.... they look like people in the crowd! Interestingly enough I could pick out almost all the figures by name except for some of the historical las vegas icons from before my time. This by itself was kind of what I expected. What I didn't bargin for was that you could interact with the figures and have fun.
Don some gay apparel and crawl into bed with a bottle of bubble and hugh heffner? check. Pinch a bum and get JLo blushing? check. Golf with Tiger to the cheers of a crowd? Take incriminating pictures with Tiger taking advantage of his odd pose when taken out of a golf context? check check. I found myself demanding hilarious photos all over the place and realized I was having fun... oh the shock and horror!
$30 is still a ridiculous sum in my mind but if you're being dragged there at least it's not a total ripoff. There are 2-for-1 coupons out there with restrictions on when you can use them (basically the least busy and desirable times...) but that makes it more in line with what I'd like to spend to experience this attraction. If you consider these figures amazing works of art (I can't make that leap personally) maybe you could justify the full price for what you're getting
