  • I've been a member for about 2 years. It is a large gym. The equipment is some of the best I've ever used, ergonomic and was well maintained. There is two of everything and a field of cardio equipment, lots of free weights. It is a very large facility with big windows all around. Sauna and steam in the changerooms. Two large studios and a large spinning room. Shortly after I joined they started to change a lot of what made this place special. It changed management. It has now been under four managers and three new owners in less than two years. With each new company, the gym has degraded a bit more. They got rid of the cleaning staff who knew the place really well. All the little things in the change rooms; the rolled towels, ironing board and iron, boxes of tissues throughout the facility, mouthwash, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner and gel, and those really nice always wet wipes for cleaning off machines or hands that were throughout the gym. They got rid of it all. About seven large TVs, only one works, one TV was frozen on one frame for six weeks, the TV and internet doesn't work on the ellipticals and reclined bikes, no more spinning classes, they removed ALL the clocks! why would they remove the clocks?! there used to be a four gallon glass cooler at the front full of water, fruit and lime wedges with plastic cups, they told me someone broke it and I noticed it was on the floor behind the counter in perfect shape, it never reappeared, and of course; no more towels. In about February 2018, they had some sort of membership drive under "Crunch Fitness" and there are new low membership rates and a different owner. This has meant a lot of new people coming in on $10 a month who have never been in a gym, don't know how to behave, have zero gym etiquette, dress inappropriately, sit on equipment while they watch movies on their phones, or text, sometimes for over half an hour while others are waiting. They leave equipment and mats all over the floors, take photos while posing in the mirrors and in changerooms. And perform some very odd exercises and misuse equipment in ways I've never seen before. It's like being in a high school or college. Most of the members are about 18-22 years old now. It wasn't like this last year. There was a better atmosphere when the rates were high and there were less people using the facility and ones who took working out more seriously. Most of these people have left the gym now. Why have they decided to lower the rates so much and take on so many members, when the opposite is what makes more sense, a very strange business model, the wear and tear on equipment can't be overlooked either. Unless their rates are going to shoot up after a few months. Update* June 2018* I've since reduced the review to two stars. I will cancel my membership this week. No air conditioning, the windows are becoming filthy and weeds are growing through the slabs, pigeon nests outside the stationary bike area, with dead baby pigeons rotting throughout the summer. They also took almost $1,000 out of my account causing an overdraft charge and I had to go to the bank and have them repay the amount, there was a phone call from the club that I couldn't hear because of excess static, I thought it was a scam call. This gym has the rudest members I have ever shared a gym with, people who sit on equipment and refuse to get off while they spend 20 minutes jabbering away on the phone and employees who refuse to do anything about it. Every gym has codes of conduct, usually they are posted, not this place, you want to hog a bench while you cruise the internet, or leave your phone and water on the bench as though it's a night stand, no problem....because you're a lout who's never been in a gym and it's obvious just by looking at you.... Why can't they make this place what it should be and what it used to be? Why are they purposely running this once great gym into the ground to make it some budget, low rent, cheapo place? I don't get it.
