  • I have been to Bignon African Hair Braiding three times now and have yet to be dissappointed. On my most recent visit, I went to Bignons after being turned away by another braiding shop that I only tried because it was closer to my home. Never again! The first shop turned me away by charging $100 extra because the box braids I wanted were long. After dealing with these people, I immediately went back to Bignons, cursing the fact that I had not gone there to begin with. Before I even stepped into Bignons, the employees outside chatting, greeted me with smiles. After telling the lady at the front desk what I wanted she did not argue, like the other shop did. I was introduced to the woman who would be doing my hair, I sat down in her chair, and the braiding started immediately. Various women helped with my braids and it ended up only taking 5 hours. I tipped all of them. My only complaint, is that I notice when multiple women do my hair, the quality of the braids are different. The woman doing the front of my hair, did exceptionally well. Where as the women working on the back were not as great. The braids in the back seem to be aging quicker, the sizes are not as consistent, and the parts are bigger. I noticed this in previous visits as well. When I had fluffy twists done, there were way more twists on the right side of my head than the left, because there were two different ladies on either side. Though no one noticed because of the way I styled it, It was still a little frustrating.
