Previously I stayed at a different Westin and had a wonderful time so when a Groupon became available and I was looking for a birthday weekend getaway for my husband I signed up for an awesome deal. Well I checked in on a Sunday afternoon to a very busy hotel which I thought was a great sign. We made it up to our room and my husband and I were completely underwhelmed. I don't know if it was the lack of decor or the monotone white but it was not welcoming.
That night around 2:30 am there were loud noises in the hall, slamming doors ect. Oh well its Vegas, so we called the front desk to see what they could do but it wasn't much. The next night we upgraded our room to a beautiful lake view. I went to take a nap and wanted to cover up but not get in the bed. I went in the closet and got a light blanket to nap with. Well there was food on the blanket! I let the front desk know and they sent up a new blanket.
I gave it two stars rather than zero because the staff was really nice. Despite the calls at 2:30 in the morning and trying to get our room situation together they never made me feel bad. They were courteous and prompt. I would recommend the company make some modern decor upgrades to the rooms and keep up the good work with the staff.
Edit: I added one more star for the new room. Last night we had an amazing sleep. It was quiet on the side of the hotel and the morning view was breathtaking!
