I previously have done escape rooms with my Young Leaders Program since escape rooms offers brain teasers and challenges that require critical thinking, problem solving and pattern recognition. I find them to be great team building activities.
I brought the most of the gang to ESCAPEability because I heard they had a pair of rooms for two teams it compete against one another. I split the up the group and off we were. Without giving any puzzles or clues away, the story revolves around mobsters, casinos, and bars. Very much vegas. Everyone enjoyed it very much. The competitive aspect added another element. It's not just the clock you're racing, as in most escape rooms, but you can see the other team around you. You can see them when they jump in the lead and that feeling sinks of "no way I'm losing to them". You get the joy of jumping in the lead and trash talking a bit. Or maybe I'm just too competitive. Either way, jump in this room. You'll be kind of sad when it ends. Hallmark of a great escape room.
