  • The hotel made the confounding choice of putting the lobby on the top floor making it necessary to go all the way up to check in, then back down to your room floor. The public areas on the lobby floor are lovely, though, and I see why they want to maximize the view. Room floors are secured and require keycard access, which I like in a city setting. My room was excellent, very modern and clean - and HUGE. There are USB outlets next to the standard AC outlets, which is an essential feature for me. The view was gorgeous, looking down at a cathedral (I think) and a stadium. The location is very good and within walking distance of most things, though I found it very easy to get Uber as needed. (Not hotel related: There is an Au Bon Pain at street level, and I recommend it for morning provisions. If you call ahead about 30 minutes, they can set you up with coffee for a group to take with you.) The check in service was good, but one night I went up to the lobby to get some water and a snack. The desk clerk was insistent on charging the items to my room though I wanted to pay with my card, which is easier for me for expense account purposes. I pressed and she said she was auditing. I offered to leave my card or come back later and she said she couldn't do that. I said okay, never mind, and went to put the items back. She got a bit huffy and *stopped her audit*, then went on a bit about what a big favor she was doing me, bitterly saying "customers first" several times. I couldn't get away fast enough. It was deeply uncomfortable and knocks a solid four-star stay down to a shaky three. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I'd probably check out the Westin first, which seems to have a better setup even closer to the main restaurants and shops.
