First time visitor to the Weary Traveler. It's in a more hippie-ish liberal part of town (wait, what part of Madison is NOT liberal...nevermind). We were seated at a table too tightly positioned between two other tables, and the table wasn't level, so it rocked when you leaned on it. *pet peeve*.
The menu is not super extensive, but features a variety of food. You're likely to find something to try, but you may go more outside your comfort zone to get there if you are looking for standard bland American fare. I ordered the walleye sandwich. The sliced/fried red potatoes on the side were delicious. The walleye portion of the sandwich was great, but the bread/bun really overwhelmed the sandwich.
Service was adequate, but I felt as if they were rushing to get us to pay our bill and get out. I'm not sure I need to visit this restaurant again, but it was not horrible either. Parking in the area is pretty limited, though it has a very tiny lot behind the building.
