| - Healthy options here...it's true....foods kitchen!
I love their Seabass entree. I haven't had the spaghetti squash casserole in a long time, but I remember liking it at the time. Their pizza is yummy too!
Restaurant week came by not too long ago and I felt like going here twice because the first time was that good!
So on a weekday and the weekend, I basically ate the same thing.
First course: Shitaki lettuce cups (tofu, jicama, Thai basil, cashew, sambal) & hummus - both very flavorful, tofu mix tasted hearty for a vegan appetizer
Wild caught albacore tataki w/avocado, jalapeƱo, yuzu ponzu - this was presented and tasted sharp and salty in a good way
Second course: Scottish Steelhead Salmon w/smoked onion farro, arugula, corn, roasted beets, pumpkin seeds - I loved this entree! Salmon was cooked medium ish medium rare with a soft pink flesh center. The combo is genius! Flavor, colors and textures were perfect!
Dessert: flourless chocolate cake w/vanilla ice cream, caramel, cocoa nibs - decadent chocolate but balances well with the vanilla and the nibs give it a solid crunch
The chia seed pudding came with bananas and toasted coconut - a nice and light dessert if you don't want something heavy
I also got the refreshing seasonal watermelon drink!
Battle of weekday vs weekend:
Weekday: I enjoyed the albacore tataki this day maybe because it had more avocado, heartier and bigger bowl of shitaki tofu app, great service
Weekend: the shitaki lettuce cups just tasted a bit more overcooked and didn't seem as big in portion as the weekday. Refill was available on the watermelon refresher as it was not on the weekday. The forever nightmare - friend had the grass-fed steak tacos. Good stuff right? Until she got to the middle of the second taco. A dark think piece of short hair. Hard not to gag, but so sad the rest of that taco went to waste. So sad. And sad I have to envision that hair because I love tacos!
Winner = Starboy weekday
Loser = weekend weak end
