  • It has been about 3 years since my hospital stay. I give this place 2 stars because the private room was exceptional. All during my stay I had the impression that the staff members wanted to be anywhere but at the hospital. One nurse was grumbling because patients were constantly paging her (in pain, perhaps?). I was actually bawled out by another nurse because I told her I was extremely hungry and she wanted to know why my breakfast tray was sitting on the counter. I told her that I was in awful pain when the food came and couldn't eat. She scowled and told me to dial the cafeteria and order. During the entire stay, I only received one I.V. for fluids. Then, the nurse inserted the needle incorrectly just under the skin and my entire arm swelled up and later the fluid was spurting in the air. I have a congenital hiatal hernia that doesn't respond that well to my medication and some days I can't even stand straight because the pain is so terrible. This was one of those occasions and the ER doctor admitted me for tests. The first night I was there the intern came in and talked to me. His diagnosis? I probably had dispepsia (heart burn). I told him I had suffered for over 30 years and the pain keeps progressing in spite of my years of consulting gastro doctors. After 5 days I was discharged with no diagnosis or suggestions. This hospital definitely lacks in professionalism. This is surprising since it is owned by physicians.
