  • So today I left a store so frustrated, I was in tears......I had 4 hours of free time so I decided to go to my favorite Designer Consignment store, this one Charlotte NC that I had never been to (not a tour, not to see family, but to go shopping)....we'll there were 2....so I mapped it out and knew I could spend 45 minute's in each one....so I get to the first to only to be met by a new cashier, who either didn't answer my questions, couldn't answer my questions or mumbled her answers....I asked her was I in the system...she did not know...can you please find out...do I have my points...she didn't know...well can you please find out..I asked her can you punch my members card...she didn't know..I asked her could she find out.....she was just not able to answer any questions....well she asked me for my personal information including my email address.....so finally after much struggle, her co worker came over (for what I didn't know). She explained that the cashier was new....... the manager just happened to (Kelly, who was great and now cashier #3) walk out the back, started answering my consumer questions and stated she would make sure I got in the system, took over the transaction and asked me how much had I spent in CM. she would take care of everything...even giving me a 25% off to the next store, answered the rest of my questions and we even talked about when her baby was due........so I was on my way to Gucci-Land and made it there with only 20 minutes of shopping time....I picked out my selection's and they take me to a special register (feeling so grand)....I then was told I didn't get the 25% off nor the 20% off that I hadn't used at the first store....I asked if I could speak to a manager (8120 Providence Rd Charlotte,NC 28277 Arboretum) and after making me wait about 5 minutes she finally came out....she told me she would not honor the coupons as they were not for designer items....duh...isn't this a designer store...not my first rodeo either...love me some Clothes Mentor....GLOBALLY...any way after going back and forth...she finally says...in addition, you're the one who called my sales associate a "crybaby".....I looked at her in disbelief....I told her look at my profile in your computer: my email address is "PCRYBABY" she asked me what my email address was 3 times..(I think that's why the second employee came over)..the manager looked dumbfounded...I told her the other employee should have helped her (cashier#1) instead of calling ahead to say that trouble was coming. If she (#2 cashier) would have listened to the whole conversation, she would have known what was going on and the original cashier never even corrected her...... I slowly pushed back the pair of Karen Walker glasses...The Furla Purse...The Lamb wallet...2 earrings and a broach...... As a black women, never felt so embarrassed, hurt, profiled and insulted in my life. They actually called ahead to tell on me. Cashier #1 must not have corrected what cashier #2 thought she overheard. All anyone had to do was simply look at my profile and see my email address. Just for the record, I train and develop young people at cash registers all over the country (proprietary software and corporate trainer) currently working for Chico's/WhiteHouseBlack Market/Soma and Boston Proper. It is sad that racism still exists; the manager felt the need to admonish me (as a customer and a person) and didn't take the time to get the whole story. That was time I spent that I can't get back. Racism is alive and well in these 2 stores. Consumer Dollars Matter
