Stayed the weekend in the connected Renaissance Hotel and thought it would be cool that a mall was attached...
This is a very cool historic building occupied by a sketchy mall. I think some place like this exists in most larger cities. You can tell it used to be great, but now it's full of strange stores no one seems to shop in. The remaining holdouts were Brooks Bros, Victoria's Secret, and GameStop. The only populated area was the food court.
There were an alarming number of police vehicles outside but not much security inside. I was OK walking around, but my wife didn't feel safe.
We saw several movies at the cinema. It was an old school multiplex and reasonably clean for a theatre. Reminded me of the old theatres in Columbus that were torn down or abandoned long ago.
Tower City is a cool space I hope they can get it turned around.
