I have been here at least a baker's dozen times when visiting. The food is fresh and consistent, the service reliable, and the lunch specials are very reasonably priced. Overall, it's a somewhat generic menu. To my taste, the kung pao dishes are generally over sauced, a bit mushy in texture, and not very hot/spicy. Yet overall everything is tasty. The lunch portions are huge and reheat well. Their best dish is the hot and sour soup.
This is my dad's favorite Chinese restaurant in Phoenix and I don't need to have adventure-some dining when out with him. In addition, my parents came here for years. When my mom got lung cancer and could no longer go out, Dad would order the soup to go - and the owner was incredibly kind to her in her last months. How can I not continue to patronize such a human being??
