| - I've tried many various macarons from the well known spots such as Nadage, Butter Avenue, Petite Thute, Bobbette & Belle, ... However have always wanted to experience the wonderful things said towards Ladurée's macarons as I've had many tell me of it's delicious variety of flavors, how it's wonderfully chewy after biting into a nice crisp shell and how I simply haven't tried a "real macaron."
I was thrilled to hear that a location had opened within Yorkdale mall and was tipped by a coworker to come in just before closing if I desired to buy a box as coming anytime mid day... I would expect a line up!
After finding the macaron boutique (it truly stands out from the surrounding stores), I was happy to see there wasn't an extreme line up at 9:30pm. I waited in line for about 5mins with a several people in front of me and as I looked at the various cakes and macarons. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that there were many seated at the tables for tea which was a small seating area but was nicely attended to by a server who looked quite attentive. Once it was my turn to order, the lady behind the counter was incredibly nice in naming all of the variety of flavors as well as asking me what types of flavors I'd be interested in. She was also ratger helpful in explaining the prices of each macaron box as prices differ greatly if you're looking for a regular box or a gift box - so be sure to ask rather than just pointing! I ended up getting a regular box of 8 - which came down to $26.40. The flavors I had bought were: Coffee, Salted Carmel, Hazelnut, Orange Blossom, Rose, Raspberry, Pistachio and Passion Fruit. Each one was delicious with Hazelnut, Orange Blossom and Raspberry being my top 3 that I tried. I had also wanted to buy a slice of hazelnut cake, but they had sold out (the bummy for coming by at a late hour... but at least I now have a reason for coming back )
