I work nearby and I'm always waiting for when the farmers' market rolls around in the summer. The market is nestled in Mel Lastman Square at North York Centre station on the subway. It happens every Thursday between 8am and 2pm starting in May going into October. The market is slightly smaller than most, but there is a good variety of fresh fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices. In my personal opinion, it feels great to buy directly from the farmers themselves, and not some gigantic grocery store. There is Monforte cheese and Superior Meats deli meats and two bakeries to choose from to add to your fresh produce buy. There are also now several food options to choose from, including a Russian food stand that has delicious cabbage rolls and several food trucks that seem to rotate. I like this market most of all because it's not fussy, it's not too busy especially if you go just before or after the lunch hour and it's convenient!
