  • One of my favorite things to do in Vegas is pool it up and it is always a dilemma of whether I sleep in after a long night of partying or do I get up and get a good spot at the pool? Well, now that decision is a lot easier now that I have experienced the "Vegas Pool Party." As a member of a 12 person bachelorette party, our plans to go to another pool party changed when we all slept in and took the time it was required to get 11 girls ready. Since it was 2pm by the time we were ready we decided we didn't want to walk far and loose the sun so we decided to go to the Palazzo and use some of the "free passes" we received at the Venetian. Overall, I have to say the Azure pool party was one of my better pool experiences in Vegas because it was the least crowded pool I have ever been to and THAT was nice. We could actually enjoy the pool without tripping over a million people. Upon showing our "free passes" to the hostess she asked if we wanted to buy a lounge chair. "Buy a lounge chair?" I questioned. Hostess "Yes, the chairs are $50 a piece. Or rather, a person has to spend at least $50 in food or drink so your credit card won't be charged $50 for a chair. Seeing as I was already planning to spend some cash on drinks, my girlfriend and I took them up on 2 lounge chairs - because where else were we going to sit? Upon giving us wrist bands they asked if we had food and then they took the several bags of chips we bought away from us as they do not allow outside drink or food. With 2 chairs we now found ourselves having to spend $100. Considering one drink cost $17 and one pitcher cost $50 (= 4 drinks), my girlfriend and I ordered a pitcher of margaritas and enjoyed them until the rest of the party arrived. The other girls ordered some drinks and food to help us make our $100 total. In the end, we were glad to have the chairs so everyone could dump their belongings. Some of the girls bought drinks for $13 directly from the bar so they saved a couple of dollars doing that. The atmosphere was fun. Loud band, inviting pool with lounge chairs in the pool to relax in (those are free). Drink and food service was pretty good. Seemed like everything (food and drink) costs about $17. We partied until about 5:30-6pm and had a good time. I would go again just to get away from the crowds of the regular pool and to be able to show up late and still get a lounge chair.
